Features

What WorkLog does, job by job.

Record the time, give it a place, read it back, keep budgets honest, act on what is slipping, and share the work with a team. This page lists all of it, and what WorkLog deliberately does not do.

Track

A timer for work as it happens, manual entries for work already done.

Timer
Kept on server time: survives a refresh, a closed tab and a switch of device. One running timer per person, start and stop from the keyboard, switch task in one step. A timer left running is flagged.
Manual entries
A date with a start and end, or just a duration such as 1:30, 1.5h or 90m. Edit, duplicate, or delete with undo.
Weekly timesheet
An entries list and a grid you fill in from the keyboard. Today, week and billable totals. Days under your daily target are highlighted.
On a phone
Starting, stopping and editing entries are designed for small screens.
Command palette
Open it with ⌘K or Ctrl+K.

Control

Billable time, rates and budgets you can explain line by line.

  • BillableSolid. Counts towards value at the entry’s rate.
  • Non-billableHatched. Tracked and reported, never charged.

WorkLog uses the first rate that is set, in this order. The rate is stored on each entry when it is saved, so changing a rate later does not rewrite past reports.

What WorkLog does not do

So you can decide quickly whether it fits.

  • No activity monitoring, screenshots or keystroke tracking. It records declared work time.
  • No invoicing or payments. It prepares the summary; you send the invoice.
  • No native desktop or mobile apps. It runs in the browser, including on phones.
  • No integrations with other tools.
  • No email reminders or notifications.
  • No single sign-on (SSO or SAML).

Start with today’s hours.
