Teams
Shared work, separate timesheets.
A workspace holds clients, projects and everyone’s time. Each person tracks their own hours; the people who run the work see the whole picture.
Workspaces
Start alone. Invite people when the work is shared.
- Invitations
- Invite someone by link, for their email address and a role. They join by signing in under that address, with Google, GitHub or a confirmed email and password. Links expire and can be revoked.
- Visibility
- Members see their own time. Managers, admins and the owner see the team’s time and reports.
- Restricted projects
- Limit a project to chosen members when not everyone should log to it.
- Member rates
- Set a rate per member, or per member on a single project.
- Leaving
- Removing a member ends their access immediately. Their entries stay in the workspace’s reports.
Roles
Four roles, each a superset of the one below.
- Owner
- Everything an admin can do, plus transferring ownership and deleting the workspace.
- Admin
- Runs the workspace: invites and removes members, changes roles and member rates, edits settings.
- Manager
- Sees the team’s time and reports, manages clients, projects and budgets, approves timesheets.
- Member
- Tracks, sees and edits their own time. Can create tags.
Nobody can change their own role, and only the owner can change or remove an admin. The full permission table is on the security page.
Timesheet approval
For teams that sign off hours before they are billed.
- Draft
- Submitted
- Approved
- orChanges requested
- Submit
- At the end of the week, a member submits their timesheet.
- Review
- A manager, admin or the owner approves it or requests changes.
- Locked
- An approved week is locked against further edits.
- Optional
- Approvals are off by default. Switch them on in workspace settings only if you need them.
